Your Job Profile as a BMC Control-M Solution Architect
As a BMC Control-M Solution Architect, you will leverage your expertise to design, implement, and articulate Control-M-enabled solutions tailored to customer needs. In addition to showcasing Control-M capabilities, you will demonstrate its integration with the broader BMC Helix portfolio, delivering end-to-end automation,
observability, and IT operations management solutions. This role involves collaborating with presales and sales teams, driving workshops, and building robust customer solutions.
Duties and Tasks of Your Particular Role
Solution Design and Delivery:
- Design and present Control-M solutions integrated with BMC Helix platforms, such as Helix Operations Management and Helix Discovery, to enable predictive and proactive IT operations.
- Map customer requirements to Control-M workflows, enabling intelligent automation and efficient job scheduling across hybrid environments.
- Drive seamless migrations of Control-M infrastructures from on- premises to cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, while integrating with Helix cloud-native solutions.
Customer Engagement:
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and propose tailored Control-M and Helix-based solutions, showcasing value across IT workflows and business processes.
- Deliver product demonstrations and workshops, emphasizing integration with Helix AIOps for noise reduction and faster issue resolution.
- Build customer trust as a subject matter expert (SME) for both Control-M and its alignment with Helix capabilities.
Control-M Administration and Automation:
- Administer Control-M components and configure integration with Helix ITSM for streamlined incident and change management.
- Automate operational tasks (e.g., patching, job monitoring) using scripting languages like Python and YAML and leverage Helix Automation Console for additional efficiency.
Technical Expertise and Training:
- Provide technical leadership for deploying Control-M and its integration with Helix observability tools.
- Offer training and knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams and customers, ensuring continuity and understanding of BMC’s ecosystem.
Education
Location
You must have
- Comprehensive experience with BMC Control-M and its components (GUI, GCS, CCM, Workload Change Manager, etc.).
- Deep understanding of BMC Helix portfolio capabilities, including AIOps, ITSM, and Operations Management.
- Proven expertise in migrating Control-M from on-premises to cloud environments, aligned with Helix offerings.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows Server, with advanced scripting for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with Control-M features such as Daylight Savings Adjustments, File-Watcher, and Event Management.
- Skilled in presenting technical solutions to customers and participating in presales demos.
- Familiarity with automation tools like Jenkins, YAML scripting, and API integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Control-M architecture, presales, and integration with modern ITSM solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and presentation skills with the ability to address customer pain points using BMC solutions.
- BMC Certified Control-M Administrator or equivalent.
- Certifications in BMC Helix or cloud platforms like AWS or Azure are a plus.
