Your Job Profile as a Database Administrator – Oracle Apps
As a Database Administrator, you will administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases. You will perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Your typical day will involve installing database management systems (DBMS) and providing input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of databases and contribute to the success of the team and clients.
Duties and Tasks of Your Particular Role
Project Role Description – Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases. Perform many related database
functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new
databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Install database management systems (DBMS) and
provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day
maintenance.
- Application DBA with skills in Oracle, SQL Server.
- Knowledge of SQL query optimization, stored procedure management, performance management, database tuning, etc.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions.
- Manage and optimize database performance. Implement and maintain database security.
- Perform regular database backups and recovery. Monitor and troubleshoot database issues.
- Develop and implement database procedures and guidelines. Ensure data integrity and accuracy.

You must have
- Proficiency in SQL and SQL server tools
- Advanced understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring requirements
- Modeling of relational and dimensional data
- PowerShell and Unix shell scripting abilities are required.
- Impeccable attention to detail, excellent mathematics, and statistical expertise
- Strong written and oral communication abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a similar discipline
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures
- Thorough understanding of database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
- Must have a DoD Secret Clearance with SSBI or be able to get one.
- Knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, and Active Data Guard.
